Pizza Stuffed Pretzels

I saw these on the Betty Crocker website one day & immediately began drooling! So I set out in the grocery store - without the recipe I might add, forgetful me.... - to gather ingredients and have some fun with dinner!

The ingredient line-up....

You can of course use any pizza toppings you want, I went with simplicity for the first try. {I already have another plan of alredo, chicken and mozzarells stuffed pretzels....} Note: I did cut the pepperoni into smaller strips:

Roll the pizza dough out on a lightly floured surface and cut into four equal-ish strips.

Then simply add pizza sauce...

...shredded cheese...

...pepperoni...

...and begin to roll.

Be sure to pinch the seam shut. You may want to use a smidge of water to make it sticky. Keep rolling and pinching until you have this:

Carefully wrap into your pretzel shape...

... and place on your baking sheet. I used stoneware and it worked beautifully; the edges were slightly crisp.

Next mix one egg white with 1 tablespoon italian or pizza seasonings:

and brush over the pretzels.

Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

Enjoy!!

Smaller, stuffed pretzels would make great appetizers - or a fun meal for youngsters!

People, this is not cooking! This is assembling a bunch of store-bought ingredients and sticking them in the oven.

I just tried to make these.. It was VERY difficult at first, I had to throw away some dough because it was ruined!!! How disappointing.. the good news is after some practice it becomes pretty easy! Although it'll still take some work, I can't wait to try them once they get out.

You shouldn't shop at Wal-Mart. They Destroy small towns and are bad for the earth.

I made these for a cabin weekend for an appetizer and everyone LOVED THEM. I even made them the next week when I visited my sister. They are unexpected and very delicious. I made my own dough one time and used the pillsbury dough the 2nd time, both worked great. I love your blog!

My hubby makes something similar to this, but just rolls them into bread sticks and calls them pizza sticks. We love em.

These look soooo good! I'm not a big fan of pepperoni, so I think I'll try them with green peppers & onions.
Thanks!

This is some sandra lee semi-homemade bullshit. You didn't actually make anything. I might be amused if you made the dough sauce and bought actual meat. try something else.

I think they were wonderful. i also thought of keeping them as breadstick-y, but went ahead with the cutesy pretzels. next time, i wont, but mainly because i'm lazy lol. dont worry about the haters. people are mean. this is a wonderful idea!

This is a fantastic idea, and I make these regularly now!

To everyone saying "she didn't make anything" "semi-homemade bullshit" and "don't shop at walmart"...Seriously? Fuck off, people. You don't have anything better to do with your time than leaving retarded comments like that? Kristen never claimed that she made everything from scratch. Would you be pleased if she went out and milked the cow first to make her own cheese? Jesus christ.

This is just a fun, simple, tasty idea. You don't like it? Go away.

Kristen, I love this idea. Rock on, girl.
